We run a number of shared hosting servers which are currently mostly on CENTOS 6 latest and mostly use DSO with mod_ruid2 along with opcache for a good combination of speed and security.

Now that CENTOS 7.4 is released, we would like to start using http/2 and so re-installed one test / dev server with CENTOS 7 but this is when our problems started.

http/2 isnt compatible with DSO or mod_ruid2
cPanel recommend DSO for OpCache and also opcache doesnt work with suPHP

Considered switching to php-fpm but not sure this is best fit for shared servers and may need too much administration and there are also concerns about using opcache with it.

http/2 is obviously the future so would like to use that so what recommendations would people have for a secure environment suitable for shared hosting with the best fit

    Thanks
    John

    Hello,

You can read about some of the configurations others have used when switching from Prefork/Ruid2 on the following thread:

    Prefork and HTTP2

    Thank you.
