Just switched from protftp to pureftp as per the security warning. Now many of my users claim they cannot ftp into their accounts. These are all normal accounts, not resellers.

Is there some tweak that needs to be done after the switch ?. I did sync passwords in whm and checked and see users files in /etc/proftpd and I see conf files for pureftpd and proftpd in /usr/local/etc so I am not sure what else to do.

If I create a NEW account I can ftp into it but all existing accounts get the 530 error and no connection.

this is on a freebsd system running 10.4.0- e247

I switched to Pure last week and everything has been OK, until today. No-one can log into their existing FTP accounts (530 Authentication failed), and creating a new FTP account on an existing domain also 530s.
Looks like upcp has once again borked my cPanel install...

I'm not having any luck getting FTP to authenticate on any accounts. I've tried upcp, resyching passwords, restarting FTP, etc, to no avail. I also attempted to revert back to ProFTP but it appears the package has been removed.
Apart from asking for root login details cPanel support aren't responding to my ticket and the couple of customers I have are getting narky..

Finally got a reply from cPanel:
I thought STABLE builds were meant to be stable..?
Atempting to update to CURRENT in WHM killed cPanel altogether, requiring a scripts/upcp from the command line to get it back up. FTP appears to be OK now but for some strange reason server load is much higher than it should be and mySQL just failed... Eximstats just died as well..

Finally got mySQL working again much stuffing about, all seemed well..
Went to backup some databases through cPanel last night but that was now broken
Updated cPanel again, database backups are working again but now the FTP authentication issue has returned
Suffice to say I'm getting rather annoyed at all this - cPanel, PLEASE fix these recurring problems..

    Try forcing the upcp.

    /scripts/upcp --force.

My customers cannot login with just 'username' but are having 100% success using 'username@domain.com' along with the appropriate password. You might want to give that a shot.
