After upgrade to latest stable WHM shows wrong version

The change log shows latest stable:

Fri Mar 12 12:50:33 EST 2004
9.1.0-STABLE_76 (i386)


But WHM shows after upgrade

WHM 9.1.0 cPanel 9.1.0-S73
RedHat 8.0 - WHM X v2.1.2


BTW whats the difference between i686 and i386 in the change log?

Hi Krisdv,

i386 and i686 are different architectures of your processor say pentium 3 and 4... The PPro, PII and PIII are all 686, but from what I read the PIV is a 786.

i386 packages are compiled with the options/instructions which an Intel 80386 (+equivalent) will run.

i686 (or IA64) are for the new 64bit chips.

Many vendors have more than one kernal of linux in there distribution.so the best matches the processor is installed.

Hope now the difference in architecture is clear for you.

Thanks for the info.

Apparantly the change log has now been modified too. Everything appears as i686 except from the last one, strange.
