I've setup my aim screen name, password, and contact screen name in whm (root) to send alerts to me. In contact manager I set all alert priorities to all 3 so it would send all alerts to my screen name. For some reason its not working. I delete a domain, suspend, etc., I am not recieving an instant message. I have also installed Net::AIM perl modules and it still doesn't work.

    Thanks,
    Ben

its not working for me either

if you also go to the contact manager..

and you look inside the ( / )

You should see either your AIM or ICQ contact id's.. but you dont.. I think its a bug in the latest cPanel release!

I'm going to bump this too, because I noticed it's not working for me either... is this a future feature, or is there a problem with this part of the program?

    Thanks

well for one.. stable = nasty

use either Current or Edge, yes I use to think that Stable was best, however it seems that cPanel works backwards! Edge is actually more stable than stable itself. I personally use Current, and have been loving it.

While the AIM/ICQ alert function still doesnt work... everything else should. This function hasnt worked to my knowledge since early 9.4

Has anyone open a support ticket or bug report on this? That's the way to get it resolved.

well, it seems that it can be fixed...MANUALY

    just edit /etc/wwwacct.conf
    and add these:

    CONTACTUIN XXXXXXX
    ICQPASS AAAA
    ICQUSER YYYYYYY

    where:
XXXXXXX is your own ICQ number, where cpanel will send alerts to
YYYYYYY is the icq number of the server(the one that the server will login with-must be created on icq.com site)
AAAA is the password for the newly created icq number

and to test it, just go to an account cpanel, and addon a domain, you should receive a message via icq.

    Just fixed it with AIM...

    CONTACTAIM <your screen name>
    AIMUSER <server's screen name>
    AIMPASS <password for server's screen name>

    Do not include the <>.

Now that I finally have a mobile phone that has AIM... AIM is still not working in Cpanel. Anyone know if it is working on edge? I only run stable so trying to figure if this is something I can look forward to.

Not sure if this is any thing to do with it but some AIM bots use Net::Oscar so installing that could possibly help
