I have a Centos 5.3 box running WHM/Cpanel and have enabled Tomcat in WHM, I have also got access to the tomcat manager part.

I would like to install alfresco on there but I am worried that something might go wrong. For example, when I attempt to yum install the list of dependency's includes an open source java and tomcat so I canceled the install in case it broke something.

The installation docs for alfresco are extremely confusing so I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

Has anyone had any success in installing alfresco on a WHM/Cpanel enabled server, if so whats the best plan of attack?

I am wondering if it might be an idea to Disable tomcat in WHM and simply install the linux bundle as this will be the only thing using tomcat.

    Would that approach break anything?

    Many thanks in advance
