With :fail: or :blackhole: in place, forwarders to addresses on other domains go through just fine. But forwarders to addresses on the same domain do not.

Given an account abc@domain.com, a forwarder from dev@domain.com to ghi@otherdomain.net works, but a forwarder from dev@domain.com to abc@domain.com does not - mail never arrives and is returned to sender (if :fail: ).

Any idea what's going on or how to correct?

Also, why does exim not distinguish between aliases and forwarders, like some other MTAs? Seems like a useful distinction to me.

    Thanks,
    Scot

    *bump*

Let me ask this another way: If you create a forwarder to another address on the same domain, the alias should become part of the namespace for that domain, i.e. should not be subject to blackhole or fail. Right? So why does this not work?

Does it work for anyone? Or just not for me?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
