We have installed cpanel on 7 new servers that were previously RHEE 4. with webmin.

The cpanel installation went accordingly as we have previously done this installation at both Ev1servers and CIHost, however on this isntallation only the primary account email addresses can login.

Our MX DNS points to mail.pscgaming.com which points to 72.32.74.179. This server has the pscgaming.com account active and online with email addresses created. However when attempting to login via mail.pscgaming.com wither eric, [email protected] or [email protected] it returns "Unknown user or password incorrect"

If we login via mail.pscgaming.com:2095/ we are also unable to access squirrelmail or horde directly.

We appreciate your response to this matter as we have purchased 7 licenses and and have installed all.

Update: 06-24-06 1000cst

Okay, so in an effort to see if maybe webmin had set some very odd permissions on files, i had my servers "kicked" to an installation that the not include a webmin installation. Just the basic RHEE config.

I installed cpanel, and did all things well, got them setup and then, went to test emails. Still getting the same problem as to where when logging into either Squirrelmail or Horde from i get "Unknown user or password incorrect."

This is WHM 10.8.0 and cPanel 10.8.2-R119 with RHEE 4

Any suggestions would be wonderful.

what are you logging in as

1: user

or

2: user+domain.com

if your logging in as one, you have problem, login as 2.

Jatos,

We are logging in as

user @ domain.com

I do know cpanel require the domain, however even though we have the vlogin for squirrelmail installed, we are not using it at this time to allow proper troubleshooting of this problem.

Thanks for the tip though.

One thing I have just today discovered and, if im correct, doesnt cpanel now
store email users/pass in the HOME/DOMAINUSER/ETC/MAIL/DOMAINNAME.COM/
location?

If so, the current location on my server looks like HOME/DOMAINUSER/ETC/DOMAINNAME.COM
there is no mail there.

Could this be a permission error on the /home
directory?

Situation Solved.

Well, after 67 hours, a complete reimage of the servers, and two full days of searching it all boiled down to dovecot.

It seemes that dovecot was running on the server, by default from a new RHEE 4.x installation and this was prohibiting courier_imap from running. Whats even more odd is I still cannot find an error log file where courier says it was unable to startup properly. I assume that you could possibly configure dovecot to work with where cpanel stores the user/pass of all email users, but it is much easier to just stop dovecot, disable it, then start courier imap like it should be.

Cheers
