Hi I am getting the above error message when I try and send emails to a specific email address.

I have tried "WHM Home » Networking Setup » Resolver Configuration" and this appears to be OK

The domain name in-question resolves when using the "host" command from our server's command line?

However when i Telnet IPaddress 25 then the connection is timing out.

Not suite sure what to try next - any help much appreciated

If you are unable to connect to the address, it is possible that the remote server is blocking your connections on port 25.

Things you might like to try:
  • Check to see if your firewall or other protection system you might be running on your server is not blocking outgoing calls to the destination domain/IP
  • Try sending a mail to that address from an external Hotmail or gmail account to see if the destination server/mailbox is actually receiving mails.
  • Use a service like MX Lookup Tool - Check your DNS MX Records online - MxToolbox to make sure your server/account is configured OK (possibly wouldn't hurt to check the destination server as well)
  • Last resort: stop exim -> remove all files in "/var/spool/exim/db" (I rather like to move them somewhere rather than delete them directly) -> restart exim
  • If all else fails, you may need to contact the administrator of the destination server and establish if, and possibly why, they are blocking you.
Hope something helps.
