Hi, today I review our server but we cant access to it, I manage a lot of servers but only one have this strange problem, and never see some thing like this.

    WHM password, not working
    Cpanel accounts passwords not working
    FTP passwords not working
    Emails passwords not working
    SSH Root passwords not working
Orther SSH users passwords not working.

But 3 hours a go everything worked fine.

Then thought I had been hacked.

I reboot the server on rescue mode and reset all passwords before check the system and logs, we saw nothing strange, no body access to ssh, no body change the passwords.

Then I rebot de server, and try access one more time whit new password but it dont working.

Then reboot one more time on rescue mode and copy the /etc/passwd and /etc/shadow from orther server and reboot but I had no results.

The passwords only not working, I also try remove the pass hash from /etc/shadown ( user:hash to user: ) but nothing help.

Anyone know what could have happened ?

PD: The firewall is OFF, cphulk not banned me, also try whit diferent IPs, and the websites are online, apache, mysql ete are online and working fine.

PD2: My english is very bad, sorry for that, I try Improve it.

As per your report your accounts may affected by some vulnerability scripts,

if you are hosted with some hosting company you can ask their support.

second option you can reinstall whole server.
