Allow accounts to test site by ip or without domain

Is there a way to allow new accounts to test their sites before they transfer over the domain or change name servers? I know I should do any editing to apache to create a virtual server or virtual directory like in IIS to accomplish this. Is there a work around or something obvious I am missing in cpanel?
