allowing .exe files problems

I am using mailscanner with exim.

I have problem allowing .exe files through the server. It keeps on getting filtered out and the recipients are unable to receive that email.

I have already allowed it in filetype.rules.conf file. Yet, .exe files still cannot get through. Where else are there file flitering for emails?

You have to check filetype.rules.conf and filename.rules.conf, also make sure that they're not being blocked by /etc/antivirus.exim. If you modify either of those MailScanner files you need to restart MailScanner.
