I currently have an account at GoDaddy and at Bluehost. When using the cPanel at GoDaddy I have the ability to go into my subdomains and then EDIT the document root path. With Bluehost in the cPanel I have to delete the subdomain and then recreate it every time.

I wanted to find out if there was a way when getting into the WHM if there was an option somewhere to enable this feature.

Thanks!

As far as I know, there is no ability. If you don't want to delete it, you would need to modify /var/cpanel/userdata/user/subdomain
change the "documentroot" and rebuild apache conf
Code:
# /scripts/rebuildhttpdconf
then restart apache

Also, in the cPanel documentation it seems it's possible...
link: https://documentation.cpanel.net/display/ALD/Addon+Domains

Modify Addon Domain
Modify the document root for an addon domain
To modify the document root for an addon domain, perform the following steps:

Click the notepad icon next to the addon domain that you wish to manage.
Enter the new file path to the addon domain's document root in the available text box.
Click Change

Ha yeah, fail on my part I probably should of checked first before I opened my mouth. I just checked and I am able to modify the location in cPanel:

s3.amazonaws.com/uploads.hipchat.com/31137/205915/mEAOrgw9hvi5xwi/upload.png

I don't see an option for this though in Tweak Settings for example. BlueHost is so heavily modified so who knows to be honest, not sure if that is so on a VPS with them, but you may get better luck asking them unless someone else responds here.

Thanks for checking Jcats! Yea it seems a few others support it too! :/

Just to point out to others who might be unsure what we are talking about...

Yeah that's bluehosts highly modified theme. If you have a VPS, you should be able to set it to 'x3' or 'paper lantern' no?

Perfect! That worked out beautifully now I have that option. The x3 theme was kinda rough looking but the paper lantern theme looks clean, nice and simple, AN I HAVE MY EDIT OPTION!!!

It's ashamed... I just got used to the bluehost theme and it looked nice, but how can you use a crippled theme! :)

Thanks a million Jcats! I never thought about changing the theme.

You can always nudge them and ask them to include it :)

Glad you have the option back now tho!

Yea, that's what they said too. So I did leave some feedback. One thing I will caution others that do the same thing on...

If you are going to use a different theme MAKE SURE that while still in the bluehost theme you change the setting that lets you choose 1 of 4 different places as a landing page once logged in. You SHOULD pick anything other than "cPanel". Ex: I have mine set to "Home".

I made the mistake of having mine set to cPanel, then change to the paper lantern theme. I quickly realized I could not access the main bluehost page to add/remove domains etc..

Hello :)

I am happy to see the issue is addressed after switching to the Paper Lantern theme. Thank you for updating us with the outcome.
