    has anyone used amavisd-new with exim4? I set it all up just like they said, i added this to my exim.conf
    local_interfaces = 0.0.0.0.25 : 127.0.0.1.10025

    in the routers section

    amavis:
    driver = manualroute
    condition = "${if eq {$interface_port}{10025} {0}{1}}"
    # if scanning incoming mails, uncomment the following line and
    # change local_domains accordingly
    # domains = +local_domains
    transport = amavis
    route_list = "* localhost byname"
    self = send

    in the transports section

    amavis:
    driver = smtp
    port = 10024
    allow_localhost

    it seems like everything is sorta working, it passes the messages to amavis, they get scannd, but the problem is it loops over and over, and scans about 10 times before the messages fail.

    I get this error

    Too many "Received" headers - suspected mail loop

    has anyone had this problem, or can give me any tips?

    PS why did cpanel choose exim, over something like postfix or qmail :)

    Go on, have a guess
    Probably because exim is small, light, easy and highly configurable, few of which apply to the two you mentioned :)
