Good job cPanel! You not only make your product more expensive with no notice to the price increase. You are now going to drive a large number of accounts to your competitors. Lemme guess, your stock holders couldn't afford a their next Lambo??

How sad, such a radical change, without warning, and with such a high increase, this can even lead to a lawsuit!
Thank you cpanel for giving the push that the market needed to help moving away from this monopoly. Folks, the market will find a way out, shared and reseller hosting will continue to exist. If you know history, you know that in capitalism, the market finds a way out from this scenarios.
So, today we don’t have any viable solution to migrate to. DA is not good nor have the marketplace that cpanel does, but tomorrow perhaps.
I bet that cpanel will keep with this crazy pricing and will bet that no one will leave them, in the meanwhile everyone is developing or migrating to viable and alternative solutions, so their cash flow will skyrocket in the first year and then slowly decrease when everyone have their solution for it. It’ll not be painless but eventually we’ll throw back the middle finger to cpanel as theyre doing to us now.

Cpanel Inc. managers have no authority in this matter.
The Oakley capital are responsible for this scandal and force hundreds of thousands of customers to do so.
But cpanel customers are not stupid. They will react to this bull****.

Very bad news, I think we will reconsider every license we have with cPanel.. we cant afford a massive price increase like this one..
I think this was a (potentially) bold miscalculation by whoever made this decision (which, btw... wasn't Benny, Lauren, Phil or any of the other cPanel staff that works on these forums).
Their thinking seemed to have been "Everybody uses cPanel... there is no quality alternative... so we can charge whatever we want."
The problem is ... the reason there is no quality alternative is because people had no incentive to use a different product. cPanel at $45/mo or a lesser product for $30/mo? Meh... for $15 most will get the product with a bigger market footprint. This prevented any other product from really gaining any marketshare and really any development. It's a snowball effect... other products can't improve because nobody uses them.
But with this vast price increase you've given everyone all the incentive they need to explore other products. No, there still isn't a quality alternative right now, but lots of people are going to flock to other alternative which will give those alternatives the capital they need to improve development and increase quality. You've essentially shot yourself in the foot with this price increase. I'm not sure how much the decision makers really realize this.
I don't know if the decision makers just surrounded themselves with "yes men" who agree to everything the decision makers say or if anyone there is offering any type of critical thinking

I think OakleyCapital will sell cPanel in the next 12 months before the cashflow starts to decline, based in short-term higher valuation to some poor sod or large player who wants to kill the smaller webhost competition.

Now that pricing is outrageous and they clearly have no issues with stabbing their clientbase in the back, people will stop recommending cPanel altogether. There may not be a viable alternative at the moment but with the sentiment the way it is now towards cPanel, you can be certain that the market will create one.
