I know theres got to be a thread out there, but i couldn't figure out how to search for old ones :).

Anyway want to be able to allow anonymous downloads from FTP.

I enabled anonymous ftp downloads, but whenever i contect to FTP:// i get an error message saying "bunch of text" then "this is a private system, no anonymous login"

As a side note, i did put files in the "public_ftp" folder, i'm not the most web literate so... maybe i put those in wrong place to :).

Any help or suggestions of where to look to fix would be appreciated,

    Thanks, Erich

Create an FTP account first. If you allowed anon here, FTP:// it's to the root of the account.
When you create an FTP account it creates the folder you would use. So if you created an FTP account called filez, the URL would be, FTP:// and that should work.
