 hi folks just wondering if any of you have had your cpanel port blocked by your anti-viral software, such as McAfee or Norton.
I'm currently trying to resolve this problem but the folks at McAfee are stumped as well.
Any ideas that may help.

tried with Norton previously and not having any issues. Is the Cpanel ports being blocked by your firewall? Is there any log available on either McAfee or Norton on your local?

Hi there guys,

I'm having the same problem. Ever since installing mcafee i can't access cpanel. Mcafee say its not their problem but it only happened since mcafee was installed. I dont think its a firewall issue - any thoughts on this one??

I think TweakServers is correct -- your firewall/anti-virus software is likely blocking some ports. To access cPanel, for example, you need to have port 2082 (http) and 2083 (https) open. Your options:
1) Open the relevant ports.
2) If you are unable to open the needed ports, install cPanelProxy. It's great utility that enables you to use cPanel, WHM and Webmail through the normal port 80.
