Customers report they can send email without SMTP authentication turned on.

I restart Exim and it seems antirelayd has a problem...

    [~]# service exim restart
Shutting down exim: [ OK ]
    Shutting down spamd: [FAILED]
    Starting exim: [ OK ]
    Starting exim-outgoing: [ OK ]
0 processes (antirelayd) sent signal 9
    [~]#

Somewhere I read this gets fixed switching from dovecot to courier and back, but haven´t tried. This seems like major surgery.

I have latest release... WHM 11.34.0 (build 11).

    Help! :)

    Thanks!

    ER

I just found antirelayd in the 11.36.1.5 service manager. Enabled, same result:

Shutting down exim: [ OK ]
Shutting down spamd: [ OK ]
    Starting exim: [ OK ]
0 processes (antirelayd) sent signal 9
    /usr/local/cpanel/scripts/update_sa_rules: running in background

I've been running 11.37 in QA - I tried converting back to courier and then went back to Exim as mentioned earlier. No change.

Antirelayd has been part of tailwatchd for a few years now. The exim init script still kills it in for those who have not upgraded yet. This is nothing to be concerned about.

That answers it then. I knew antirelayd was part of tailwatch, but I wasn't aware of the other info.

First time I've seen this in ages. I assume then that it's doing it's job....?
