Dear all,

After I install the "exim+virusscan.tar.gz " from cPanel, the exim no longer works, as I saw the old post, I can disable the mail filter(scanner) by uncomment the lines in exim.conf, but there are no solution for the problem.

May I know anyone of you have solved the problem? or any one can give me a hint to install other antivirus packages?

By the way, which antivirus pattern is inexpensive and worth to work /w the virus scanning function.

Sure, I have run it already,

in the exim_mainlog, i can saw the following lines when process incoming emails:
2003-02-25 23:51:26 18nhMc-0006L6-00 Error in message_filter file: failed to expand "${perl{amavis_filter_scan}{$message_id}{$sender_address}{$recipients}}" in filter file: Undefined subroutine &main::amavis_filter_scan called.\n

Do anyone can help on it ? I am using cPanel 6.0 already. Thanks !!

You need to run it again every time exim.pl is updated or you will be missing a line of code at the bottom of the file that you need:
Code:
do '/usr/share/amavis/amavis-filter';
You can also add that linet to exim.pl yourself.

Sure, I have checked the line is at the end of the exim.pl before I restart the exim service, so what's wrong ? Thanks!

Have you also checked that the filter is there? (file: /usr/share/amavis/amavis-filter)

I found that the problem was casued by Redhat 8.0, I have reinstalled RedHat 7.3 and it works fine. By the way, the webmail cannot display chinese in Redhat 8.0... so bad~ I've remembered someone told me that he never install Linux x.0, x.1 & x.2 until x.3 is out.... it is true...
