Is there anyway I can manually go in and jail SSH users to their home directory in FreeBSD? Currently, they can go in and view any folder/file on the server which is a huge security risk.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just enable jail shell on the account.

You can do this by clicking

    Manage Shell Access

under the Account Functions menu in webhostmanager

the problem is that it says this option can only be enabled if you're using Linux. I'm using FreeBSD. There must be a way that this can manually be done without using WHM.

Seems there may be a mis-match of terms above... WHM has the option (apparently -except- in FreeBSD) to chroot the ssh users using "jail shell"... which is not to be confused with a FreeBSD Jail.

Here's yet another plea for cPanel to either 1) enable a feature in WHM to utilze an actual FreeBSD Jail, or 2) make chroot work on the ssh users.
    :)
    Thanks!

    FreeBSD jail configuration in WHM?

Can cPanel add FreeBSD 5.x/4.x jail configuration in WHM?

Not just enable jailshell.. but be able to actually have a configuration page, where they can set maxfilesperproc , etc for the jailshell.

Does anybody know how to do this? I've enabled "Use jailshell as the default shell for all new accounts and modified accounts" and I can still browse through any directory on the entire server.
