    Anybody using MailScaner here?

    1) How do I install it?

    2) How it works?

    3) Will it protect emails from viruses?

    4) What is the action when it finds the virus?

    Thanks

Or use this, I got it from on of these forums works great for me!

This is not yet supported, but we tested it and thus far is working well. If you are running the Edge series and want to give it a try, read-on!

    SSH into your box.

    wget http://layer1.cpanel.net/mailscanner-autoinstall-1.5.tar.gz

    tar -zxvf mailscanner-autoinstall.tar.gz

    cd mailscanner-autoinstall

    ./install

The default install includes Clam Anti0Virus, but if you want to use something different, you will need to install it. I like f-prot, but RAV, Sophos and Clam all get good reviews.

    Then:

    pico /usr/mailscanner/etc/MailScanner.conf

And edit line 238 to indicate what virus program you are using.

    Then:

    service MailScanner restart

    And you are done!

Thanks, I'm running Stable versions on production servers. I want to make sure this will not harm systems.

How do uninstall it? Just in case :)

There is an uninstall script included with the DarkOrb package. It's in the same directory as the install script. Simply run uninstall. :)
