Is the latest STABLE 9.1.0-STABLE_73 (Fri Mar 12 10:53:08 2004) ok to update to or does it break everything :) ?

Cheers Marc. I am using WHM 8.8.0 cPanel 8.8.0-S74 which is working fine and im thinking, is this latest update to 9.1.0-STABLE_73 only to fix the password retrieve really ? I have no interest in using that feature again so I wonder am I going to update to a disaster (rushed ?) stable build to fix something I do not want to use. Would I be best not updating and waiting until the new stable is "sorted" better in a few days ?

Wish they would look at ours right now. Its being assigned from one CPanel technician to the other, it seems they don't know how to resolve it.

    Some advice for CPanel customers:
Unless something is broke, do NOT upgrade. I repeat, do NOT upgrade. Change permissions of all upgrade scripts and/or replace them with dummy scripts to prevent a forced upgrade.

    Some advice for CPanel developers:
Test the <insert custom angry word here> things before releasing them, or worse yet, forcing them upon your customers. Dont implement changes that break everything else and if you have to do it, at least have a fix ready for it. It appears you dont know how to fix the latest problems, because its taking HOURS, or almost a full day already and still no fix. Bottom line, dont play with things you have no idea about.

I've upgraded just now to 9.1.0-STABLE_73 and all seems fine. Mail isnt getting stuck in queue, like some have been experiencing.

What I did experience since 2-3 days ago, is not getting any root cron email details of the upcp run in the morning (along with daily backups). When I just upgraded to the stable 73, all of a sudden I find a upcp email in my mailbox that was generated 5 oclock in the morning, but just now being sent. I assume I had a mail queue problem before this? I dont know. I just hope root mails be the upcp update email tomorrow morning this time.

I have no problem and I'm running the following :

    WHM 9.1.0 cPanel 9.1.0-R64
    RedHat Enterprise 3 - WHM X v2.1.2

I've enabled and disabled the SMTP tweak, and have no problems with sending / recieving emails from outside the box.

Might want to check if this thread helps you out. : http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21550

    I'm having this problem:

    http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=21559

And the interesting thing is that my server updated itself to the latest stable - even though I had it set to MANUAL! :(

Also - talking with a couple other hosts - this error is being seen on the release tree as well as edge.

I upgraded 4 box's last night to 9.1.0_S73 and they all appear to be working including e-mail flowing in/out.

I am just upgrading from WHM 8.8.0 cPanel 8.8.0-S74 to WHM 9.1.0 cPanel 9.1.0-S73 and works great.

And for swampy, please click Change Update Preferences on your WHM and make sure that Manual Updates Only (STABLE tree) already check. Login to your box using ssh and do these steps :
    1. /scripts/updatenow
    2. /scripts/upcp
    3. Pray :D (just kidding)
