Has anyone here used the new option in WHM "Allow Sharing Nameserver Ips" ? If so, is it working?

I was thinking that sharing nameserver Ips will cause a conflit, no ?

    Thanks.

I was already sharing nameserver IPs before this option was added, so I'm not exactly sure what functionality it's supposed to add that wasn't already there.

    Dummy needs to confirm.

We can give resellers their own nameservers, or a neutral name, without using up IPs?

How does this work? You give all your resellers who want nameservers the same ip; 111.111.111.111 & 222.222.222.222 but they all use different nameservers names ns1.oneuser ns2.oneuser etc?

that is what I understand. I will have to play with it first and test it on none production IPs/Name servers.

Well the mystery may be solved if Bdraco would give us a little explanation.

    My question exactly TYS ...

I see a cool feature that could definately save some money (and amount) on IP's. But if you try to add a nameserver IP it just goes to the next available IP.

If Nick, would be so kind to drop by and let us know, it would be appreciated. I think there is some other configuration spot that either has not been put in, or we are missing.

Does anyone actually see this option in the changelog? I don't which would make me belive its not fully implemented yet.

Odd that netsol changed its behaviour, while the RFC's(the documents that describe dns)) still strongly suggest you have forward-and-reverse dns resoltion for a nameserver, which is impossible to have if more than one nameserver has the same ip(reverse dns per ip can only point to one name and be legal)

I have done this for a long time without having it enabled - users using the same nameservers/IPs, so what's the news?
