HTML will be the common based language in which you will create the skin in but, you will need to have a copy of the proper cpanel api variables for the desired operations you wish to have your skin function.

Do a search here on the forum for "cpanel api".

No, cPanel API is in reference to the language cPanel uses to do everything. There's special tags to do everything whereas standard HTML can accomplish the standard layout of the skin. Without the API you have no skin.

Easiest way to learn how to make your own skin is to download one and study it. Once you see how it works, a little html work and you can make it look any way you want and add or remove any features you want.

When I first looked at the files I had a good idea of how it works within a couple hours.

In WHM under themes, there is "Download a Cpanel Themeball", unless you're a reseller. Or you can use a secure ftp program to ftp to the server to download a theme in /usr/local/cpanel/base/frontend/ to study.

If you're a reseller or end user, I could provide a zipped theme here if needed.
