After upgrading our server to Apache 2.2, we have extremely high server load. Apache status window always displays hundreds of requests like this one:

    our_server_hostname.com GET / HTTP/1.0

Moreover, server load is abnormal. Apache always uses > 250% of CPU. CPU/Memory/MySQL usage windows displays this process in red (it's using > 250% of CPU):

    /usr/local/apache/bin/httpd -k restart -DSSL

I believe there is something wrong. We disabled suphp, recompiled Apache again, and it's still the same. Do other cpanel users have similar issues? Anyone knows how to solve it?

just moving to 2.2. apache should not give you high load. regards:

    our_server_hostname.com GET / HTTP/1.0

it's normal and should be ok.

PS. try get apache 2.2 to work with very basic config. may be some of modules compiled wringly and this create problem for you. Or open cpanel ticket if you unsure.

Yes, I believe our_server_hostname.com GET / HTTP/1.0 requests are normal, but I see hundreds of them now. It didn't happen with Apache 1.3.

Anyways, going to recompile Apache with less modules now
