    pluto# /etc/init.d/httpd start
    Syntax error on line 1093 of /usr/local/apache/conf/httpd.conf:
    Invalid command 'BytesLog', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration
    /etc/init.d/httpd start: httpd could not be started

    Apache is down, imap is down, exim and exim26 is down. WHY???

    Go on, have a guess
    No idea why, you'll have to login and do the normal server admin work to determine exactly why yourself, or hire a server admin to do it for you.

    As for the apache error, try searching the forums as the BytesLog issue has been discussed before.

    For exim and impa problems you'll have to post the errors that you're seeing in the respective applications error logs when trying to use those daemons.

    Yep, had one freebsd server with a corrupt httpd.conf the othe day with the same error.

    Make sure you backup the file, and run;

    cd /usr/local/cpanel/apache
    /usr/local/apache/bin/apxs -iac mod_log_bytes.c

    Then try recompiling apache after.

    Thanks a lot - it worked for me... I didn't even have to recompile. A restart using /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd restart was enough.
