any ideas on what could cause this?

The servers are not overloaded...performance wise....but it seems that the apache config file now keeps getting corrupted after each new member is added because apparently cpanel cannot go over 1000 members before it starts becoming unstable......

If you are referring to &members& as being &accounts& then it looks like 1000 is the upper limit for WHM/Cpanel. Every software program has it's limitations and one can only guess you've reached it in this case.

1000 on one server? Never seen that before.

then it looks like 1200 is the upper limit

    I have seen 1200 accounts on a whm/cpanel server - not my own ;-)
