    Now if this isn't cool I don't know what is.
    http://www.nuclearelephant.com/projects/dosevasive/

    login as root
    wget http://www.nuclearelephant.com/projects/dosevasive/mod_dosevasive.1.8.tar.gz
    tar -zxvf mod_dosevasive.1.8.tar.gz
    ***********************************************
    ( NOT NESSESARY: mod_dosevasive has default options configured, but you may also add the
    following block to your httpd.conf: )
    <IfModule mod_dosevasive.c>
    DOSHashTableSize 3097
    DOSPageCount 2
    DOSSiteCount 50
    DOSPageInterval 1
    DOSSiteInterval 1
    DOSBlockingPeriod 10
    </IfModule>
    ***********************************************
    /usr/local/apache/bin/apxs -iac mod_dosevasive.c
    /etc/init.d/httpd restart

    Then for fun
    chmod +x test.pl
    ./test.pl

    and you will see it work :)

    *WARNING* DO NOT USE THIS MODULE *WARNING*

    It has known issues with the MS Frontpage Extensions and will disable the usage of Frontpage on your server.

    This is a tool worth watching but, for the moment is not production quality. :rolleyes:

    Look for this section in your httpd.conf file:

    <IfModule mod_dosevasive.c>

    and delete it.

    Then restart apache.
