I have been unsuccessful in getting apache to start on my server. I tried updating and then rebuilding but so far no luck. I've checked my error logs and still don't know? Any ideas/ common problems?

Sometimes apache is unable to start due to the log file. If apache can not write to the log file it will not start. Check the log file for apache, also verify that your /var partition is not full. I have seen this occur. If you can check to make sure no log file even assosiated with apache is to large.

Good luck and let us know if this is the problem. Also please provide what OS and Cpanel build you are running on your server to better assist us is helping you.

I deleted the apache error log and attempted a restart and got this.
Code:
Attempting to restart httpd
Waiting for httpd to restart.... . . . . . . . . . . finished.

httpd status

root 16433 1.0 1.6 18356 17012 ? S 21:55 0:00 /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/bin/whostmgr ./reshttpd

httpd has failed, please contact the sysadmin.

Then I checked the partition space and it was clear. So I attempted another restart and received the same error.
