apache fails after changing the hostname

I used the change hostname feature in web host manager to change my hostname. Restarted apache and bind and it worked fine. After a couple of hours, I got an email saying that apache had failed and attempting to restar. It restarts with no problem.

So, I read in another post to reboot the machine after you change a server name so I did that.

I am still getting an email telling me apache has failed. Anyone have an idea what to do? I've tailed the messages and error log but nothing in connection.

Thanks!

The base hostname needs to be resolvable or apache will bite the dust or at least report problems.

Can you resolve the new hostname from the command line on the server in question?

Yes. I can resolve it. I did not change the hostname in the server setup section in web host manager however. Should I change that?

Yes. you might need to edit the ServerName in httpd.conf as well..
