    Hi Guys

    We are facing a peculiar problem on our dual hexacore hosting solution with 16 gb ram. Our website (which uses vbulletin CMS) stops responding for 3-4 minutes despite not having any sort of a traffic spike and sot showing any load as such on any process (TOP command)

    Our website stats:

    Concurrent users: 256+ (as per google analytics)
    Total daily pageviews: 200,000+ (as per google analytics)
    Total daily users: 25,000+ (as per google analytics)

    Concurrent requests on Apache: 256
    Max server load averages - 3.0 ~ 4.0
    Memcached installed: Yes
    Mod_Deflate for GZIP compression: Yes

    Our HTTPD.CONF

    Code:
    KeepAlive on
    Timeout 50
    KeepAliveTimeout 5
    MaxKeepAliveRequests 300
    MaxRequestsPerChild 4000

    Our MY.CNF

    Code:
    innodb_file_per_table=1
    max_connections = 200
    read_buffer_size = 16M
    bulk_insert_buffer_size = 64M
    myisam_sort_buffer_size = 2M
    thread_cache_size = 16K
    low_priority_updates=1
    query_cache_size = 64M
    query_cache_limit = 75M
    table_cache = 1024
    table_definition_cache = 3072
    open_files_limit = 1536
    long_query_time = 5
    key_buffer=64M
    key_buffer_size = 64M
    join_buffer_size = 32M
    tmp_table_size = 256M
    max_heap_table_size = 256M
    table_cache = 1024
    innodb_buffer_pool_size = 18M

    Please help us out with this issue as we have tried to optimize as much as we could and still unable to resolve the issue.

    Also, do you recommend nginx instead of apache?

    Thanks for reading.
