    strace gave me :

    kill(7699, SIGUSR1) = 0
    waitpid(-1, 0xbfffaddc, WNOHANG) = 0
    select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {1, 0}) = 0 (Timeout)
    time(NULL) = 1078764050
    kill(7701, SIGUSR1) = 0
    waitpid(-1, [WIFEXITED(s) && WEXITSTATUS(s) == 0], WNOHANG) = 7699
    waitpid(-1, 0xbfffaddc, WNOHANG) = 0
    select(0, NULL, NULL, NULL, {1, 0}) = ? ERESTARTNOHAND (To be restarted)
    +++ killed by SIGKILL +++

    This is the stuff that killed apache. Well, I could trace this. Appears a RHE 3.0 ES problem with USR1. Agan this problem with redhat. Or maybe the call that cpanel does is incorrect ? This is happenning constantly.

    I can reproduce the problem on any RHE 3.0 ES with cpanel ... Tryed on seven servers. Both the problem.

    uname -a
    Linux lin1.hostwise.com.br 2.4.21-4.0.2.ELsmp #1 SMP Thu Dec 18 19:18:04 EST 2003 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

    Go on, have a guess
    I'm running RHE3 without problems on "2.4.21-9.0.1.ELsmp #1 SMP Mon Feb 9 22:26:51 EST 2004 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux"

    How do you recreate the problem that you have?

    Although I do not use RHE, I have read many posts stating that using kernel 2.6.3 got rid of a lot of problems.
