Apache ..reading.. state?

    Nowadays , my server is getting very very slower in httpd service.:(
    I realized that , there is many many line like these in whm-server-status:

    1-37 7842 0/38/40078 R 0.81 3 0 0.0 0.15 422.99 ? ? ..reading..
    2-37 7846 0/96/37478 R 1.98 3 1 0.0 0.17 529.26 ? ? ..reading..
    93-35 - 0/0/456 . 0.00 1533 0 0.0 0.00 3.15 85.104.248.23 (unavailable) GET

    Sometimes It doesn't response when I see these lines.

    what could be problem?

    thats an apache DoS attack. check if you have any sites on your server that may be targets. with several tweaks, those attacks can be overtaken.

    netstat -plan|grep :80|awk {'print $5'}|cut -d: -f 1|sort|uniq -c|sort -n
    
    You will see a list of IP's with the number of connections each once has to your server. Find the IP(s) with an excessive amount of connections and block them from the server. Preferably from a network firewall, but local firewall will help as well.
