SpamAssassin is working well, however I cannot see where the spam is going. I have enabled the Spam Box, and it does create the "Spam" folder for each account, but no spam is visible in the spam folders. If I leave SpamAssassin enabled, but disable Spam Box, all the spam goes into the Inbox, so I am absolutely sure the spam is not simply being deleted. Have tried using @Mail and also an IMAP client to view the Spam folders.

    Environment:
    SpamAssassin3.3.1
    Cpanel: 11.32.5 (build 10)
    OS: Linux, X86-64
    Apache: 2.2.22
    PHP: 5.2.17

My hosting provider will charge me for looking into this problem, hence I am trying the forums first.

    Thanks,
    Greg.

Re: SpamAssassin: Spam not going to spam box folders

    Hello :)

How are you checking that the "spam" directory is empty? Are you checking via FTP/SSH or does it show up as empty in your email client? You may want to try accessing Webmail to ensure the email account is subscribed to the correct IMAP directory.

    Thank you.

    Michael,
I have checked using two methods:
    a) Using @Mail from Cpanel
    b) Using IMAP from Thunderbird.

In both cases, the Spam folders are visible, but always empty.

    Thanks,
    Greg.

Re: SpamAssassin: Spam not going to spam box folders

Solved. There are TWO folders - one named "Spam", and the other named "spam". SpamAssassin is placing the spam into folder "spam". @Mail doesn't see this folder. I tried Horde, and it sees both folders. On Thunderbird, I was able to see both folders when I right-clicked on the Inbox for the account and then selected "Subscribe" - this then showed both folders, and I was able to subscribe to "spam".

    Cheers,
    Greg.
