I tried on /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd status but it appears:

    Not Found

The requested URL /server-status was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

    Is this right?

When I tried to restart using etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd start, it shows:
    already restarted.

    Is this right as well?

How do I check mail log by the way?

    Regards

    Well..

Same here, it's because I messed up the hostname so apache cannot find the status page hence the 404 (which means apache is running).
