    Hi,

One of our customers has much visitors and apache going crazy with very high server load.

The (old) tweak is recommended by this customer to his visitors :

    hxxp://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=243907&hl=about:config&st=0

Its a firefox tweak that basily opens more connections to the webserver (can also done with IE with some Power Tweak Tools for XP).

How can we tune the httpd.conf so it handles such requests smoothly and lower the system load a bit? (system load is arround 6.00 avarage).

    Greetings, Danny.

    Hello,

Try tweaking the apache by reducing the MaxClients entry in the httpd.conf and then adding the following to limit the CPU usage on the server and memory

    RLimitMEM 147166208
    RLimitCPU 240

Make sure you get the apache restarted.

Let me know if you need anything with this .
