I will be using Apache 2.2 when cPanel 11 is installed on my server next week, and I have a coupla questions:

    1) Will I be able to customize the httpd.conf file without cPanel overwriting my changes?

    2) Can we have separate vhost conf files?

I currently use Apache on a box without a control panel, and the httpd.conf file has this directive:

    # Virtual hosts
    Include conf/vhosts/*.conf

This loads all of the per-vhost conf files in the vhosts directory (via the wildcard '*'). Very sweet, and MUCH easier to maintain than putting all vhosts in one file.

Is this how cPanel will work on the new Apache 2.2 setups? If not, can it be done manually without cPanel overwriting everything?
