Well, I've upgraded all my servers except one to the latest Stable release. All was well, so I did this final server tonight. CPanel/WHM upgrade went OK. Then I ran /scripts/easyapache as usual to get to Apache 1.3.28, and Apache won't come back up!

I've hunted around these forums and tried everything I found, still no luck. Near the end of the httpd error_log I see:

[crit] (98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to port 443

    Is this the problem?

A little higher up I see:

Zend Optimizer requires Zend Engine API Version 20020429.
The Zend Engine API Version 20021010 which is installed, is newer.

The only obvious difference between this server and my others is that this one is running RedHat 7.2, while my others have 7.3.

I've tried many easyapache options, including option 1, and I get the same results each time.

Ideas? Soon my customers will be all over me like a cheap suit.

Well, some process had bound to port 443. Once killed, Apache happily restarted.

I'll test some more, but seems I'm OK now.

I have this on some servers too sometimes. Rebooting usually does the trick.
