Apache2 By Hand - No Edge

    2 Questions:

    For average use with no especially exotic scripts to run - is there really a *need* to upgrade to Apache v2 ???

    Had read somewhere that this version was more concentrating on 'doze compatibility, could be wrong.

    Secondly, if one did want to upgrade without using edge, what areas would need to be looked at so things like account creation within WHM would still work properly?

    Loading in v2 isn't that difficult, but by default it'll put itself in /usr/local/apache2, so any symlinks strewn throughout the system, or scripts that rely on it being in /usr/local/apache, would need modification.

    Somehow it doesn't seem a good idea to just replace the old with the new, and let v2 live in /usr/local/apache ...
