APC or eAccelerator (with zend + ioncube enabled) Need advice.

So I'm thinking about installing APC or eAccelerator on my dedicated server.
I've googled a lil bit and saw different opninions and statements about compatibility of these two (APC and eA) with Zend and ionCube. I have them enabled since some of my sites use coded scripts.

My question is: what is better and will it work with zend and ionCube?

I have a related question - a subset actually:

We use suPHP and from some past posts / threads I figured that suPHP simply does not support any opcode caching. Is that correct or is there a way of enabling PHP code caching in suPHP?

We have Zend Optimizer installed and it was quite a surprise to find that it actually does no optimization, it merely allows running encoded / obfuscated / protected PHP source code.

I am using APC with ioncube/zend with no issues.
only thing is even the newest version of APC reports itself as v 3.09 not 3.12 but thats just a simple file edit.
this is only 2 minutes of runtime but my fragmentation usually runs around .2%
