Looking at the on-site documentation I can't see anything for this.

I'd like to be able to modify the DNS records for a domain via the API. I'm wanting to be able to list, add new, modify existing and delete existing DNS entries for a domain. Ideally I'd like to be able to run this at a user account level, but would be happy to take this up to the reseller level and go in via the WHM API if necessary.

    Any suggestions?

The only DNS entry I can think of modifying via the currently available APIs is the MX entry using API1/API2 via the XML-API.

Here's a related feature request you can comment on and vote for:

If the zonefiles were updated outside of cpanel/whm would this break things when cpanel/whm made changes? Would changes still get replicated to a cpanel/DNS only slave server?

If you can code you could login to WHM and screen scrape the DNS pages... Which could create a DNS API for you :) I have a perl socket server using PAM auth for my dns now .. You could always write something along those lines
