    Hi,

I wasn't thinking and initially posted this in the wrong forum. Does one have to create a 'DNS zone' for each nameserver and the hostname?
To clarify, do I setup DNS records in WHM for
    - domain.com
    - hostname
    -namserver1
    -nameserver2
    -nameserver3

or just the domain.com? The nameserver and creating hostname setup in the other WHM panel options have been done but i don't know if it is also needed/not in the DNS.

    TIA

Name servers generally does'nt need DNS files as they are redirected to an IP from registrar it self.. and A record for the hostname can be added in the DNS file of the main domain.

However it is always good to have DNS zone files for Nameservers and hostname but Cpanel does not create them you will have to do it manually.

    Thanks Murtaza_t,

I created those files awhile back so I do have them. Everything but the email service seems to be working alright. To be more accurate, I have a mail / Webmail issue that's completely driving me nuts :( For a month now, I've not been able to login to Webmail under 'username'. I have to go into each addy one at a time. It was fixed for a day then boink.. I've been trying to figure it out with no success and thought those zone records would be the resolve

    Hi Murtaza_t,

The messages for both Squirrel and Horde state sonething like 'username and passwd incorrect' while Horde also states

Notice: (null)(): Retrying LOGIN authentication after AUTHENTICATE LOGIN failed (errflg=1) in Unknown on line 0

Notice: (null)(): Retrying LOGIN authentication after AUTHENTICATE LOGIN failed (errflg=1) in Unknown on line 0

Notice: (null)(): Can not authenticate to IMAP server: AUTHENTICATE LOGIN failed (errflg=2) in Unknown on line 0

The errors are qute common but the normal fixes aren't helping. Tried all the recommends here are number of times. went through standard account files, upgraded to Edge and back down again, tried logging in via domain name, host name, ip, cpanel, webmail and did maidir conversion to name a few. I have Noooooo clue.

Try changing your Mysql root Password forcefully from WHM, also have you tried running

    /scripts/fullhordereset OR
    /scripts/fixwebmail

Yes, okay, I changed MySQL password. Nothing there. Then I ran
    /scripts/fixwebmail

    and got this message

    Code:
chown: failed to get attributes of `/usr/local/etc/cpanel/base/webmail/data': No such file or directory
chmod: failed to get attributes of `/usr/local/etc/cpanel/base/webmail/data': No such file or directory
Next, did a reinstall in WHM of 'Current' and got a bunch of these comments

    Code:
error: db4 error(-30978) from db->get: DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery

I think this relates to the RPM issue.

What version is working fine? Should I upgrade to EDGE?

    Thank you

I think you need some to login into your server and check the issue as it if difficult to get the exact problem from forums... OR you can place a ticket to Cpanel support
