In theory, at least until everyone complains how broken they are and another EDGE gets released to replace it.

;)

Indeed. It's really up to personal preference and how dirty you want to get your hands. If you're willing to work with cPanel to fix any bugs that appear and have some understanding of how cPanel hangs together, then EDGE can be good. I personally only run EDGE on all my servers.

If you want to be a little circumspect, then CURRENT might be better. If you don't want to get your hands dirty at all, then RELEASE or STABLE would be better, though I personally find STABLE gets a bit dodgy when it's been left behind for a long while.

But I'm worried about the HTML Editor Vulnerability.

Well, you didn't mention that, you asked a general open question.

If you want the protection you'll have to upgrade or wait for the new STABLE.

I have been running EDGE on all my production boxes since the day it was invented and it's like Chirpy said. If you want to get the latest, which often has many fixes and enhancements included, and you want to help cPanel inprove the product and you give them feedback ..problems get fixed really fast. It's all I run.

Just like chirpy and RPM we also run EDGE and have for a long time. We will have a occasional issue every so often but like posted above if you have a working knowledge of cpanel and the OS your running and feel comfortable adjusting, fixing and tweaking EDGE has the most recent features and bug fixes. Plus if you do find a bug EDGE is the first to get fixed. To answer your question yes EDGE is stable enough to use for a production server

We have been running EDGE for over a year where I am at with virtually no problems ....

Occasionally Cpanel will release an EDGE with some specific mistake in it and it will
generally take us all of 2 seconds to fix it. For those who don't know enough about
Cpanel and Linux to fix the issues themselves, there is usually a patch EDGE release
fixing those rare problems the very next day so never really any sustained issues.

Like I said, usually don't have any problems with EDGE though!

Agree as well, we have been running EDGE builds from day one. Anytime an issue has come up it is usually fixed very quickly as EDGE release always gets the the fixes/changes first.

lol, EDGE seems to have its popularity...

I only use EDGE builds. Even in a live environment...

It does have its odd bugs, but hey, its worth it to have the most upto date builds.

To be honest, its NOT too hard to fix the small issues, before the clients notice. ;)

As Chirpy initially said, its all personal preference.

I'd like to run Stable/Current, but due to the fact that security patches etc aren't "backported" it's really no choice - EDGE or an insecure server.
