Please give your recommendations, advice and experience with either one:

cpanel's asp or mono (mono-project.com) asp? My client needs it (claims this is all he needs and understands it is not real deal asp).

    What do you recommend?

Please re-read my post carefully. I specifically said the client understands this is not real deal. All I am asking is if one of these is better than the other.

mono is for asp.net applications (.aspx)

    Asp:apache is for .asp files...

    It depends on it's need.
    If he needs .aspx (asp.net)
mono is pain in the ass to install.. trust me... If you want to install it, you should test it on a test server.

    If he needs only .asp

Just take it from layer 1
