    How do you assign a server a public IP

    I am running a modem in bridge mode to my server

    I edit file /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

    <looks like this >

    # DEVICE=eth0
    # BOOTPROTO=static
    # HWADDR=12:23:44:43:56:67
    # IPADDR=72.234.xx.xx

    < 72.234.xx.xx is my public ip >
