    Hi

I just had a Attack from one IP address. He tried to open tausends of connection to a site. I was able to block it with my firewall, but is there no solution, that I can block them automaticaly, as soon they try to open to many connections? Is there a tool which can block them? Or is there an option in iptables to do this?

    Thanks
    Michael

Install APF and BFD. You can learn and download the files at:
    http://www.rfxnetworks.com/apf.php
    http://www.rfxnetworks.com/bfd.php

PM me if you need help.

    Hi

I was reading a bit about this 2 solutions:

    - mod_evaisve makes problems with Frontpage. A lot of our customers use frontpage and therefore we can not use this.

    - BFD is checking for authentication. But in our case it has nothing to do with authentication, it's more flooding with htttp connections.

Is there any other solution, or are my 2 statements wrong?

    Michael

We installed BFD and mod_evaisve on so many servers and have no problems whatsoever.
