    Hi,
I am not sure, if I am right here, but I am about to go crazy with a problem - would be great, if you could push me in the right direction!!

A client´s script requires to protect a directory with .htaccess and to check access-rights with entries in a database.
    The .htaccess says:

    AuthName "Authentifizierung!"
    AuthType Basic
    Auth_MySQL_DB aekooe_AekIntern
    Auth_MySQL_Password_Table userpwd
    Auth_MySQL_Username_Field ArztNr
    Auth_MySQL_Password_Field GebDat
    Auth_MYSQL_Group_Table userpwd
    Auth_MYSQL_Group_Field Status
    require group 1 2 10
    Auth_MySQL_Empty_Passwords off
    Auth_MySQL_Encryption_Types Plaintext

this gives a server 500-error, the error log says:
(...)/vertreter/liste/.htaccess: Invalid command 'Auth_MySQL_DB', perhaps mis-spelled or defined by a module not included in the server configuration

    Thanks
    Fred

Have you installed mod_auth_mysql? I ask since it appears to be what is needed for this to work and it is not natively supported by cPanel/WHM at this time.

There is an unsupported custom option module for EA3 available that can add mod_auth_mysql support at: http://easyapache.cpanel.net
