Autoconfig documentation. How to register email provider on Apple?

I'm not finding any information on that either. This appears to relate to the following:
Mail Settings Lookup - Apple Support
Mail settings you might need from your email provider

I am not sure Apple is open to adding more domain's to that database unless you're a big player like Gmail. I would think that if they were open to adding your company to the database, the help article would provide a link to do so, or at least reference it in some way. I've opened an internal docs case(DOC-9706) to see if this recommendation is still valid or if I'm overlooking something.
