On a few of our servers i've noticed that the autoinstaller for phpBB is not working.

Your board has been created with an admin user that has the same username and password you use to login to cPanel. You can access your board at: http://*****/forum

We are going to install this board in /home/*****/public_html/forum
Install Results: Install is OK!

Clicking on the link to http://****/forum shows

"The page cannot be found"

I also notice that the config file for phpBB in the install is a blank file. I've tried substituting it with code from another config file but it still doesn't work.

Any ideas? Thanks

I to am having the same problem but not just with PHPbb, it is with every autoinstall script I try to install. After the installation is complete I click on the link to enter the admin area and I get, "Internal Server Error or Misconfiguration." Does anyone have any suggestions on this??

Server at RS
P4 2ghz
512mb Ram
Redhat 7.3

Scripts give above error no matter what skin is used.. I will say that I did just install PHPbb and got to the main forum page but could not go any further. Every link I clicked gave me the same error. I even tried to login as the admin and still got the error..

Thanks in advance

Same thing. Our config file is messed up and all. Happened to day for first time. It is not an phpsuexec thing for sure, as my other domains that were installed prior to this are working (had to chmod them to 755).

When I install I get a blank config.php file.

Ok, I got it to work. Thankfully my customer had installed one a couple days ago and it was a blank DB.

I did this.

1) delete the user_xmb1 fromt the DB.
2) deleted and recreated the user_xmb1
(so I can give it a password)
3) reassigned the user to the DB
4) copied the config.php file
5) copied the DB from another forum that was still blank

mysqldump blank_forum > db.sql
mysql fskced_forum <db.sql

6) Chmod 755 since I run phpsuexec

It worked. But the install seems broken. I cannot get one good install.

I am having this problem as well. I am running FreeBSD with the latest release of cPanel 7.x. Does anybody have any suggestions as to how I can fix it?
