Ok here is what I want to do. Lets say I have 30 account my server. I want to set up automatic back ups (loike what is offered in WHM) but I want different back up frequencies for some accounts. In this instances I might want the following:

    Account 1 - 12 get backed up on a daily/weekly monthly frequency.
Accounts 13-19 get backed up on a weekly (on Tuesday)/monthly frequency.
Accounts 20-24 get backed up on a weekly (on Thursday)/monthly frequency.
Accounts 25-30 get backed up monthly.

Also is there a way to specify the day of the week and month that each of those backups are performed?

There is no way that I'm aware of to adjust your backups in this way.

Is it even possible to set the day of the month that the monthly backs rub? It seems to randomly pick a day and then on that day every month it processes.

You are able to set the day(s) of the week you wish to run backups, sure. What are your backup settings right now?

That's not what I asked. I know that you can set daily back ups to run whatever day(s) of the week you want. I specifically asked if you can set the day of the month that the monthly back up runs. I see no way to set that. Sorry for the excessive typos in my previous posts. I have some severe eye issues and I have been on the computer for a fairly long time tonight. Eyes are getting tired.

On the day you want it to run, open the backups config area in WHM, and re save your settings. I believe that was an answer given to this sort of question some time ago. YMMV.

Thanks I will give that a try. I am going to see about writing code to run the back ups the way I want. I am hoping that the powers that be add in a 'back up frequency by account' feature in the next release. Being able to pick one option for all accounts is rather limiting.

You might like to visit the Feature Requests forum and do a search for the word backup. There have been several different ideas tossed about there and you might find what you're hoping for, and should sign onto it if so.

The Feature Requests forum is where changes get discussed and if feasible and popular, implemented.

From memory, the monthly backup simply runs a month after the last monthly backup, so you may be able to make it run by adjusting the modfication time on the monthly directory.
