    Hello!

I'm wondering if it's possible to configure an automatic backup for each single user from the WHM-interface (or from cPanel). I've seen the possibility to make an automatic full backup of the server configurations and home directories, but I want to make automatic backup only for a few single users, not of the whole server. Is that possible?

    Thanks for the answers!

    Kind regards!
    Viktor

The Configure Backup tool lets you limit the backup to certain users.

cpanelkenneth, thanks a lot for the answer! I've tested that backup and it seems to work fine. I've selected Backup Interval - daily and Backup Retention - weekly. I thought that it will keep every backup archive one week, but the backups are overwritten - only the last backup is kept. Is there a way to keep more than one backup of one user?

    Thanks a lot!

How about a cronjob to cp the package to a new location?

Yes, with executable script in crontab I can rename and keep the archives in every way that I want. But my question was for the "Configure Backup" option in WHM - what is the purpose of the Backup Retention option, because I set it to "Weekly" but it keeps only one archive (the Backup Interval is daily).

That is correct, each backup retention option is simply one copy of each. So a daily and weekly backup would simply be 2 separate archives not 7.

    Thanks, jayh38
So, if I understood right, if i choose today daily backup with weekly backup retention, that means that every day a new backup will be created and the old will be overwritten and after 7 days, it will make copy of the last daily backup?

    Thank you again!
